Prepare the Fish

  1. If you are going to hang the trout, make sure to pierce the hook through the spine in order to create a strong hold.
  2. Brush olive oil on the skin and inside of the fish.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

Preparing the Barrel for the Fish

  1. Once lit according to the manufacturer's instructions, return the barrel back onto its base.
  2. Place the H-Frame in the top section of the barrel (14D or 18C), then carefully hang the trout on it.

Place Grate(s) over the H-Frame

  1. When using the 14D, insert 1 or 2 Half-Grates on the H-Frame for the asparagus.
  2. If using the 18C, you can simply place the Full-Grate on top of the H-Frame and then place your asparagus on it for cooking.

Place Asparagus on Grate

  1. Cook the seasoned asparagus on the grate that is on top of the H-Frame.
