BBQ Can Unkabobs

Directions

If Cooking Raw Meat

  1. If you are cooking with raw meat, particularly chicken, we highly recommend cooking it alone in a BBQue Can without the vegetables for at least 30 minutes or more depending on how done you want the meat.

    Alternatively, if you have two cans, you can cook the raw meat in one and vegetables in the other on the grill or smoker at the same time. Skip steps 2-3 if using this method.
  1. Set the can on the grill or in a smoker directly over medium to high heat (for vertical smokers like the Barrel House Cooker, hang it or lay it on a grate at the middle level). Rotate or shake the can every 20 minutes. It can take 60-90 minutes for the vegetables to cook.
  2. Check the internal temp of the meat to ensure it is done. Poultry (chicken and turkey) should be at least 165°F.
  3. Pour all the ingredients on a serving plate, toss them, and enjoy these unique "un-kabobs".

If Cooking Vegetables Only or Pre-Cooked Meat (e.g. pre-cooked sausage)

  1. If you are cooking only vegetables or veggies with pre-cooked meat such as sausage, simply place both the meat and the veggies in the can, leaving at least 1" of space towards the top.
  2. Set the can on the grill or in a smoker directly over medium to high heat (for vertical smokers like the Barrel House Cooker, hang or lay it on a grate at the middle level). Rotate or shake the can every 20 minutes. It can take 60-90 minutes for the food to cook.
  3. Pour all the ingredients on to a serving plate, toss them, and enjoy these unique "un-kabobs".
