It burns three hours and keeps pouring out the smoke as food is cooking on the grill. Nothing could be easier or better tasting. The SmokeCan is also the easiest way to cold-smoke cheese, meat, spices, and vegetables. You can even freeze smoked items to use later in recipes that can be enhanced by smoky BBQ flavor such as soups, omelets, and casseroles.

Instructions

Gas and Pellet Grills

Use BBQ hardwood pellets.

  1. Set the SmokeCan on the grill.
  2. Fill SmokeCan with any type of BBQ hardwood pellets. One cup burns for about one hour. SmokeCan holds up to 3 cups of pellets.
  3. Close the lid and put the wire bail up.
  4. Light a small section of pellets directly through the perforated metal using a gas torch, or push in some BBQ starter gel and light it.
  5. Begin to BBQ as usual and close the grill to let the SmokeCan smolder and produce smoke.

Cold-Smoking

Use BBQ hardwood pellets.

  1. Set the SmokeCan on the grill. Do not light the grill.
  2. Fill SmokeCan with any type of BBQ hardwood pellets. One cup burns for about one hour. SmokeCan holds up to 3 cups of pellets.
  3. Close the lid and put the wire bail up.
  4. Light a small section of pellets directly through the perforated metal using a gas torch, or push in some BBQ starter gel and light it.
  5. Set anything on the grill you’d like to infuse smoke into, such as cheese fish, pork belly, or nuts, on the grill next to the SmokeCan. After one or two hours remove food. See detailed instructions online.
